Deco Table Lamp – Rectangular
68
Description
Designed by Paul Feher and first produced by Martin Rose in 1930, this spectacular lamp not only is a favorite, but has become a hallmark of the unique position our family now holds in American Deco History. Limited production began over eighty years ago, however having never ceased, it is, strictly speaking, not a reproduction … but rather a continuation by the same studio and artists having offered it originally.
Its balance between textured base, uplifting V column graced with delicate curls and lens surrounded by classic edge treatment represents the height of American Deco era design. Crafted of hand forged and textured steel with cast ornament. Its nickel plate finish will mature with a delightful rich patina as it ages.
In contrast to our currently produced Piston Lamp, which is pristinely identical to its original, this lamp has been enhanced by subtle contributions made by the entire Rose family. Its elegant rectangular upper frame carries glass panels which now bear a sandblasted motif by Melvin Rose. Functionally, Bob Rose added an additional lamp and redesigned the wiring path to be internal to the V and petal motif column.
The first produced is displayed in our permanent collection.
